Musk is Building a Cyborg Dragon & Here is Reaction From Daenerys Targaryen

Elon Musk, the chief executive of Tesla and Space X, on Wednesday announced on Twitter that he was building a cyborg dragon as it was an "underserved market". The announcement by the billionaire entrepreneur was sudden but did not come as a surprise to many, considering Musk's penchant for such tasks. Among many endeavours of Musk is a hyperloop travel pod, flamethrowers and a colony on Mars.

"Oh btw I’m building a cyborg dragon," Musk announced on Twitter on Wednesday.  The tweet immediately went viral with 73,000 retweets and over 3 lakh likes in less than 12 hours. The tweet got thousands of responses but one stood out.

While most of the users took the announcement as a welcome step, there was one Twitter account which did not take Musk's tweet very gently. Game of Thrones, the iconic HBO TV series which has a massive following worldwide, was one of the responders on Twitter. The series, an adoption of George RR Martin's book series "A Song of Ice and Fire", was tweeting on behalf of House Targaryen, one of the great houses fighting for the Iron Throne.

Daenerys Targaryen, a member of the ancient house which ruled the seven kingdoms for generations, is currently riding her three (sorry! two) dragons in the Game of Thrones universe.

SpaceX chief refused to pledge his allegiance to the dragon queen and instead threatened to use his "space lasers."

Musk, who has founded several tech companies including Neuralink, which works on brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), has in the past built things like “flamethrowers”. Musk-led The Boring Company later sold all 20,000 units of “flamethrowers” to raise the US $10m for its hyperloop project. The company also sold hats to raise funds.

But why the CEO of Tesla and Space X is building something like cyborg dragon now? When asked, he said he believed that it was an "underserved market."

Meanwhile, The Boring Company recently announced that it has raised $112.5 million in equity, with 90% coming from Musk himself. The company is aiming to build underground tunnels for its hyperloop transportation project.

Musk is seeking to revolutionise transportation by sending passengers packed into pods through an intercity system of giant, underground vacuum tubes known as the Hyperloop.

According to Forbes magazine estimates, Musk’s net worth is at the US $19.3 billion.

While the company has put the cost of the Hyperloop project at the US $1 billion per mile, it is still to be seen how much he would spend to develop his cyborg dragon. And more importantly, will it be available to mere mortals like us!
